Each group will run for 6 weeks beginning the week of May 21, 2012.
Summer sessions will begin the week of July 9th and will run for 6 weeks!
Exceptional Explorers will begin Friday, July 13th 8:30-10:30 and run for 6 weeks.
The week long BAC Camp is August 20th -24th from 9-12pm.

Day: Monday Time: 4:30-5:15 pm
Here are just a few of the activities we are going to be doing in this group!
-Make and mail postcards to each other
-Play ‘Fine Motor Olympics’ (and then teach your friends, siblings or mom and dad to play too!)
-Scavenger hunts and obstacle courses using the incredible equipment available in our gym!
-Get creative with sentences and stories!
-Make your own comic strip
Targeted at developing your child’s:
Prepare kids for writing by increasing strength, body awareness skills, fine motor coordination, and visual-motor skills. Participants will use a variety of exercises from the Handwriting Without Tears and Callirobics programs as well.
Improving their sitting posture, helping their grip mature, increasing trunk strength and hand strength, enhancing their control during tool use, improving legibility through formation, orientation, spacing and sizing of letters. (Sessions can be adapted to work with whichever writing program your child may be learning at school.)

Kids with ASD can get fit with many opportunities to meet their sensory needs. Obstacles courses, crash pillows, swings, treadmills, and zip line will keep us moving for an hour of fun. Friends of all abilities are welcome to join!

Day: Thursday Time: 4-5:00pm
Boys and girls ranging between 10 and 14 years of age will use cooking to expand their receptive, expressive and social language skills.
Depending on the age and level of your child this activity gives the opportunity to:
- ask and answer questions,
- follow multiple step directions through words or pictures,
- increase vocabulary,
- problem solve,
- and work together.
The goals will be chosen to match the group’s age and ability as they progress through the 10 week session.

Girl’s Power Hour is an hour of fun and fitness for teenage girls with disabilities.
Join us for an hour of heart pumping fun as we encourage one another toward a lifetime of being healthy and fit. Participants will be evaluated for a baseline fitness level during the first session.
From there they will participate in a combination of cardio and strengthening exercises to reach their individual fitness goals. So turn up the music and bring your smile. The Boston Ability Center will be rockin’ with girl power on Wednesday afternoons.
Girls of all abilities are welcome!

This group was designed by an Occupational Therapist and a Speech-Language Pathologist to promote improved social pragmatics, sensory-motor skills, self-regulation, and expressive and receptive language. Through the use of teamwork and group activities, participants will practice cooperative play, problem solving, turn taking, and listening skills. Groups will also focus on improving body awareness skills necessary for appropriate social interactions.

This group was designed by an Occupational Therapist and a Speech-Language Pathologist to promote improved social pragmatics, sensory-motor skills, self-regulation, and expressive and receptive language skills. Participants of Move to Talk will practice skills such as turn taking, following directions and cooperative play through various movement-based activities. This group is targeted at young children whose difficulties with self-regulation interfere with their social skill development. It is also ideal for children with receptive and expressive language delays, verbal apraxia, motor planning difficulties, and sensory processing challenges.
