Good Morning FIT Kids Families!

Please join us in welcoming the newest member of the FIT Kids team- Sarah! Sarah is a PT student from Boston University completing her final clinical rotation at the BAC and will be joining us every week in FIT Kids until June!

This week at FIT Kids:

Warm up: To warm up for today’s session, we completed a few jogging laps around the gym and worked with partners to move the heavy floor mats out of the way to open the gym up for our main events!

First Event: Hungry Hungry Hippos

We divided into 4 teams and battled to get as many balls into our team’s bucket as we could! The balls from the ball pit were scattered all across the gym floor and each team had to walk, run, crab walk, and bear crawl to retrieve as many balls as they could carry before returning to their bucket to deposit the balls. We had a very close race and each team did a great job being creative in order to carry as many balls in one trip as possible!

Second Event: Exercise Beach Volleyball

We stood in a circle and passed the beach ball to a partner in the circle. Whoever caught the ball had to teach the group the exercise that was written under their thumb! We completed sit-ups, bird dogs, push-ups, planks, mountain climbers, single leg bridges, etc. We had quite the workout today!

Cool Down: One of our FIT Kids led us through a thorough cool down consisting of jumping jacks, alternating stride jumps, and a hamstring stretch.

Next week, we will complete an exercise challenge on physioballs and a surprise activity planned by Sarah!

Please let us know if you have questions about FIT Kids via email, a phone call, or in-person at a FIT kids session.

All the best,

Brian, Sarah & Micayla
